Carson Family
Welcome
We are Amy and Johnny Carson from Athens, Georgia.
We are so excited and thankful that you are taking the
time to read our letter.  We are truly touched by your
courage and unselfishness in considering such a loving
decision for your child. We want you to know that we will
never tell you we know how you feel, or that we know what
you are going through.  We will only try to understand your
situation and be as supportive as we can of you!  We
believe in open adoption, and we want you to feel
comfortable with us, and with the amount of contact you
want with your child.  We will make you a solemn promise
that our lives will be dedicated to providing a loving,
nurturing, and safe home that will allow your child to
flourish, to grow, and to learn.
Family Life and Home
We have a wonderful life together that is full of happiness and joy,
adventure and fun, and most importantly our families and friends.  What
would enrich our lives even more is a child in our home.  We live about
an hour from Atlanta in the fun city of Athens.  We live in very family-
friendly neighborhood where everyone looks out for each other.  There
are so many children (of all ages) in our neighborhood, so our child will
have lots of playmates.  We have a lot of room in our home for
expanding our family, and one of the rooms has already been
designated the nursery!  We share our home with our lovable cat,
Tigger, and our sweet dogs, Sophie & Kirby.
We are very social people and are always looking for something fun to
do.  We can’t wait to take our child to our favorite pumpkin farm each fall
and explore the North Georgia Mountains, and to visit Disney World,
Amy’s favorite, with all of the extended family! We are also avid sports
fans.  As a family, we look forward to cheering ‘Go Dawgs’ at the
University of Georgia football games, and seeing our child’s expression
when he or she sees fireworks at the end of a Braves game. During the
summer months, we have block parties where streets are shut down and
we eat, socialize and the kids all play together. Since Amy is planning on
being a
stay at home mom and the local park is only a mile away,  we
will be visiting the swings and the lake regularly. We have a great
backyard where we envision our child playing kickball with friends,
building sand-castles in a huge sand box and making homemade ice
cream with Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents on warm summer days!”
Thank-You
It is difficult to try to tell you everything about us and our hopes for the future, but we hope we have given you a good idea
about the kind of people we are and the type of parents we will strive to be.  We hope that you are at peace with your
decision, and our prayers are with you.  We would love to hear from you.  Please feel free to call us any time at

Our Promise
We promise to give your child unconditional love.  We
will read bed time stories as a family, make hot
chocolate on cold days, and tickle him or her just to
hear the giggles!  We promise to spoil him or her a bit
and to help establish roots and wings as he or she
grows into the person we will all be so very proud of.
Words cannot describe your loving decision.  We want
you to know that your child will always know of the love
and care that brought him or her into our family.
About Johnny ~by Amy
Johnny is a light-hearted, funny (he has to be with his
name:), compassionate and patient man that I love
dearly.  He will be an amazing Dad because of his
dedication to family, his strong morals, and his gentle
nature.  He is definitely a “guy’s guy” who loves to do
anything outside (especially softball) and use his
hands to build things.  I can already picture him
throwing the ball to our son or daughter in the
backyard, or building a sandbox in the backyard.
About Amy ~ by Johnny
Amy is very caring, and she is always looking out for
those she loves. I feel very blessed to have her in my life
and I cannot wait to see her with our child!  She keeps
me laughing all the time with her sense of humor and
her fun and outgoing spirit.  Her patience and kind heart
will make her a great Mom.  She will be there to kiss
away boo-boos, and she will be the first Mom to
volunteer to bring cookies to our child’s classroom.

Our Story and Family
We met on a blind date in 2001 and have been happily
married for 5 years.  Johnny is an electrical contractor and
works for the family business. Amy is employed by Johnson &
Johnson in the quality department as an auditor, and once the
baby is here she plans on being a stay at home mom.  We
knew that we wanted to become parents, and we
are excited
to build our family through open adoption
.  We are so
fortunate to both have our parents and siblings who fully
support our adoption decision.  We both come from strong,
loving families that run very deep with traditions, values and
fun. Our families taught us to be respectful and
compassionate, to work hard, and to value education.  Both
of us were raised with Christian morals.  All of these values
are what we hope to pass onto our child.
We both have many
happy childhood memories, such as going to church on
Sundays with family, attending summer camps, playing sports
and traveling on family vacations.  We can’t wait to help
create just as many  wonderful memories with our own child.
